Background.
Phil has delivered schemes for Willmott Dixon Housing and St James, and has held responsibility for planning and preconstruction across a wide range of residential development. That includes preconstruction roles with London Square, preconstruction and delivery roles with St James and St William, and a Preconstruction Director role at K2 Construction Management leading on major build-to-rent schemes.
The work has covered the full arc from a site that has just received consent through to a project running on site: setting the construction strategy, working out how a scheme can be built within its constraints, and producing the programme and documentation the delivery team works to.
Approach.
A programme is only as good as the method behind it. Phil’s approach connects the programme to construction methodology, procurement, logistics and the decisions that actually have to be made on site, so the sequence holds up when it meets the constraints of a real project. The aim is a workable plan with clear assumptions, identified interfaces and specific actions for the project team.
Phil leads each assignment. Trusted independent specialists can be brought into larger commissions, with the proposed team, scope and responsibilities agreed before appointment.
Based in the London area and working primarily across London and the South East, with assignments delivered nationally.
Areas of responsibility.
Across those schemes, the work has spanned three connected areas: the construction strategy itself, the preconstruction strategy that shapes value and viability before a contract is let, and the documentation a scheme needs in order to start.
