Who we are
Baily Consult is an independent development advisory practice and a trading name of Baily Group Ltd. For the purposes of UK data protection law, the data controller is Baily Group Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 10905523, whose registered office is at 6b Parkway, Porters Wood, St Albans, AL3 6PA.

What we collect
We only hold personal information that you give us, or that comes to us in the course of our work. That is usually:
- Contact details: your name, job title, organisation, email address and phone number.
- What you tell us by email, by phone or in meetings about your enquiry or your scheme.
- Records of our correspondence and of any work we carry out for you.
- Billing details, if you become a client.
We do not need, and ask you not to send, sensitive personal information such as details of health, ethnicity or political opinions.
This website
This website has no contact forms, no user accounts, no analytics and no advertising or tracking cookies. We receive personal information through it only when you choose to email or call us.
The site is hosted by Netlify. Like most hosting providers, Netlify keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses and browser details, to keep the site secure and running.
How we use it, and our legal basis
- To reply to your enquiry and discuss possible work. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, or taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
- To carry out advisory work and manage the engagement. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you or your organisation.
- To keep business, tax and accounting records. Legal basis: compliance with our legal obligations.
- To stay in touch with clients and professional contacts about relevant work. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in maintaining business relationships. You can ask us to stop at any time.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only where it is needed to run the practice or deliver our work:
- Service providers who supply our email, document storage, website hosting and accounting systems.
- Professional advisers, such as our accountants, insurers and legal advisers.
- Other members of a project team, where an engagement requires it and with your knowledge.
- Regulators, courts or public authorities, where the law requires it.
Transfers outside the UK
Some of our service providers may store or process information outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards UK law provides, such as adequacy regulations or an approved transfer agreement.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement: up to two years after our last contact.
- Client engagement records: six years after the engagement ends, or longer where needed to deal with a legal claim or an insurance requirement.
- Accounting and tax records: six years, as the law requires.
After that, information is deleted or anonymised.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information, or to restrict how we use it;
- object to our use of your information where we rely on legitimate interests;
- ask for information you gave us to be transferred to you or to another organisation;
- withdraw consent, where we rely on it.

Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK regulator for data protection, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last changed.
